Codie Sanchez heads the US Offshore & Latin America team for First Trust Portfolios.  She is an EIR at Magma Partners, a seed-stage Latin American VC fund, and founded CS Ventures, an angel investing fund and media company focused on venture building with minority founded/led companies. At First Trust, her team is responsible for institutional assets of pensions, sovereign wealth funds and governments across the region. She has funded 24 companies. Prior to joining First Trust, Codie led teams at State Street Global Advisors, Goldman Sachs, and Vanguard Advisors. Additionally, she spent time as a journalist writing for the Arizona Republic and the Associated Press where she won the RFK award for print journalism. Codie has written for, and been featured in, Forbes, Fast Company, People en Espanol, Inc., and Entrepreneur. She is on the board of Dallas Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA), and the Association of Financial Professionals (DAFP). She holds a Masters in International Business from Georgetown University, advanced degrees from Fundacao Gestulio Vargas and ESADE, as well as a BA in Political Science, Public Relations and Journalism from Arizona State University.
